AGARTALA: Marking the first Mann Ki Baat broadcast of 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today in the 130th episode of his monthly radio program. Across Tripura, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized widespread listening sessions at the district, mandal, and booth levels. In Agartala’s Ramnagar area, a major event was organized by the Ramnagar Mandal at the Ker Chowmuhani area, attended by prominent state and local leaders.
Ramnagar Leaders Join PM’s Address
The event at Ker Chowmuhani was graced by the presence of Mayor and Ramnagar MLA, Dipak Majumder, along with Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Corporator Monimukta Bhattacharjee, Ramnagar Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharjee, and other local karyakartas.
Speaking after the program, Mayor Dipak Majumder highlighted the Prime Minister’s focus on civic duty. “Today is doubly significant as the 130th Mann Ki Baat coincides with National Voters’ Day. The Prime Minister has rightly pointed out that becoming a voter is a major milestone. We urge every eligible youth in Ramnagar and across Tripura to register and strengthen our democracy,” the Mayor stated.
Key Highlights of the 130th Episode
During the broadcast, PM Modi touched upon several critical themes that resonated with the listeners in Tripura:
- National Voters’ Day (Jan 25): The PM described the voter as the “soul of democracy.” He urged families and communities to celebrate when a young person turns 18 and receives their voter ID card, suggesting it should be treated with the same enthusiasm as a birthday.
- A Decade of ‘Startup India’: Reflecting on the 10th anniversary of the Startup India initiative (launched in Jan 2016), the PM noted that India is now the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with over 2 lakh entities working in cutting-edge sectors like AI, Space, and Green Hydrogen.
- The ‘Quality’ Mantra for 2026: Stressing the vision of “Zero Defect, Zero Effect,” PM Modi called on Indian industries to ensure that “Made in India” becomes synonymous with global excellence. “The era of ‘somehow it works’ is over. 2026 must be the year of quality,” he emphasized.
- Modern Devotion – ‘Bhajan Clubbing’: The PM noted an interesting cultural trend among Gen-Z called “Bhajan Clubbing,” where youth gather in concert-like settings to sing hymns with modern music while maintaining the purity and dignity of the spiritual core.
Tripura BJP’s Outreach
Following the Prime Minister’s address, BJP state leadership noted that thousands of such sessions were held across Tripura today. In many booths, the Mann Ki Baat listening sessions were followed by discussions on upcoming developmental goals and the 77th Republic Day celebrations.
Leaders in Ramnagar emphasized that the Prime Minister’s mention of environmental success stories—like the revival of the Tamsa River in UP—serves as an inspiration for local conservation efforts in Tripura’s own urban and rural water bodies.
