Agartala, Tripura: The first triennial state conference of the National Health Mission (NHM) Workers’ Union was held on Sunday at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala. The conference marked an important step in strengthening organisational unity and addressing issues related to health workers across the state.
The conference was formally inaugurated by Minister Tinku Roy, who addressed the gathering and acknowledged the crucial role played by National Health Mission workers in delivering healthcare services, particularly at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for cooperation, recognition, and continuous support for frontline health workers.
Among others present at the conference were NHM Workers’ Union General Secretary Piyush Bhowmik, NHM Assistant Mission Director Nupur Debbarma, and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) State President Debashree Kalai, along with several senior officials, union leaders, and delegates from different parts of Tripura.
During the conference, delegates discussed key issues concerning working conditions, welfare measures, and the future roadmap of the organisation. Leaders reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of NHM workers while contributing effectively to the public healthcare system.
