Agartala, Tripura: The 21st State Conference of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) was held at the Agartala Town Hall, marking an important organizational milestone for the women’s movement in Tripura. The two-day conference concluded with the formation of a new state committee and leadership team.
As decided in the conference, an 85-member State Committee was constituted along with a 23-member Editorial Board. Three senior leaders—Rama Das, Chhaya Ball, and Rupa Ganguly—were unanimously selected as Patrons of the organization.
Brinda Debbarma from Jampuijala was elected as the President of the State Committee, while Swapna Dutta from Dukli was elected as the General Secretary. Delegates discussed organizational strengthening, women’s rights, social justice, and upcoming programmes during the sessions.
It was also announced that 29 state delegates, along with members of the Central Committee, will represent Tripura at the upcoming All India Conference scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from January 25 to 28.
Leaders stated that the conference reaffirmed the association’s commitment to advancing democratic values, gender equality, and collective action for women’s empowerment across the state.
