The CPIM West Tripura District Committee organized a protest march in Agartala, starting from Bhanu Ghosh Smriti Bhavan at Mela Ground, demanding action against corruption in various state government departments and calling for the punishment of those responsible. The march concluded with a public meeting at Shakuntala Road.
The protest march voiced strong opposition to the growing corruption within government departments. CPIM leaders demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in these corrupt practices. They alleged widespread corruption in various development projects, with the collusion of government officials, which is adversely affecting the lives of ordinary citizens.
During the public meeting, speakers reiterated their firm stance against corruption and emphasized the need to raise public awareness on this issue. They also warned that if this corruption is not stopped, they will call for larger-scale movements in the future. This march and meeting are part of the CPIM’s ongoing protests against corruption in Tripura.
