Tripura CM Manik Saha announces 17,554 government jobs filled in 7 years, emphasizing transparent hiring, women’s reservation, and enhanced security measures.
Agartala, May 13, 2025 — Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced that Tripura has filled 17,554 government positions over the past seven years through transparent recruitment processes. This initiative aims to strengthen the state’s workforce and ensure effective governance.
At a recent ceremony distributing appointment letters to 975 new constables, Dr. Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to law and order. He highlighted the implementation of a 33% reservation for women in police recruitment, promoting gender equity in the force.
Between February 5 and April 13, 2025, the state filled 4,499 additional vacancies. Furthermore, 916 posts have received cabinet approval for recruitment. To enhance security, the government is expediting the appointment of 6,967 special executives and 218 sub-inspectors.
Dr. Saha assured job seekers that the government is proactively creating employment opportunities, eliminating the need for public demonstrations. He stated, “The government is working to take the right decision at the appropriate time.”

Border security efforts have intensified, with a 136% increase in arrests of illegal Bangladeshi nationals and other foreign individuals in 2024. This surge is attributed to heightened vigilance along the international border.
Dr. Saha, who holds the Home portfolio, personally monitors the progress of NDPS Act cases. He collaborates with lawyers and police to ensure that individuals involved in such cases do not evade justice.
