The Indian Army recently hosted a special programme in Agartala to provide support and assistance to ex-servicemen in the region. The event, known as the Ex-Servicemen Outreach Program, aimed to address various issues faced by veterans, including pension discrepancies, documentation challenges, and employment opportunities.
The programme, held at the Agartala Military Station, drew participants from various districts in Tripura, including Gomti, North, South, West Tripura, Unakoti, Dhalai, and Khowai. Approximately 300 ex-servicemen, as well as Veer Naris and war widows, attended the event, seeking guidance and support from the Indian Army.
During the outreach program, various facilitation cells were set up to assist veterans with their needs. These included a job enrollment center to help ex-servicemen find employment opportunities, as well as an ECHS medical assistance cell staffed by healthcare professionals to provide health check-ups and medical advice.
One of the highlights of the event was the personal interaction between the Station Commander and the veterans. The Commander expressed his gratitude for their sacrifices and emphasized the Army’s unwavering commitment to supporting its retired personnel.
Overall, the Ex-Servicemen Outreach Program in Agartala showcased the Indian Army’s dedication to the welfare and dignity of its veterans. By providing essential services and support to ex-servicemen, the Army reaffirmed its values of service, solidarity, and respect for those who have served the nation.
