Tripura Industries Corporation Takes Over 12 Abandoned Industrial Units with Overdue Rent of Rs 63 Lakh
In a bid to kickstart industrial growth and maximize land utilization, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) has taken possession of 12 dormant industrial units located in Bodhjangnagar and RK Nagar Industrial Complex. The move comes after the owners of these units failed to pay their outstanding rents totaling more than Rs 63 lakh and ignored repeated official warnings.
Under the authority granted by the Tripura Public Premises Act, TIDC has reclaimed the land, sheds, and assets of these non-operational units, which have been lying idle for an extended period. The corporation stated in a press release that the lack of cooperation from the owners left them with no choice but to take back the properties and make them available for new industrial ventures.
The acquired properties include a total of 11.00 acres of land and 5 industrial sheds, previously belonging to Khumpui Global Services, BR Rubtech Industries, ATW Millennium Concept, Agartala Electrical LLP, Simanta Handicraft Products Pvt Ltd, ARI Pavers Pvt Ltd, North East Solar Energy Systems LLP, Prime & Pure Food Industries, Pro Rub Craft Pvt Ltd, Inoculation Accessories NE Pvt Ltd, and Joy Chandimata Cold Storage & Agencies Pvt Ltd.
Moving forward, TIDC plans to allocate these assets to new industrial entities in accordance with the established guidelines and regulations. The initiative aims to attract investments, stimulate industrial growth, and generate employment opportunities within the state.
Officials from the corporation have underscored that this decision underscores TIDC’s commitment to proactive land management and its dedication to driving economic activity in Tripura. This strategic move is expected to breathe new life into the industrial sector and contribute to the overall development of the region.
