Preserve the language that preserves our heritage—Save Sanskrit for future generations. Embrace tradition, culture, and timeless wisdom in every word.
A humble appeal to all citizens and culture lovers—
India’s next national census concludes in March 2027. During this time, a census officer will visit you to collect vital demographic data.
When they ask about your mother tongue and the languages you know, please include “Sanskrit” among the languages you are familiar with.
Many of us may not speak Sanskrit fluently, but we engage with it daily in prayers, chants, rituals, and sacred traditions. It’s the living thread of our spiritual and cultural identity.
The last census showed only 2,000 Sanskrit speakers across India, while Arabic and Persian had far higher counts and thus more government recognition and support.
If Sanskrit is labelled as a “dying” or “extinct” language, future generations may lose access to the Vedas, Puranas, and timeless wisdom that has shaped Indian thought for millennia. Without preservation, the very foundation of our faith and rituals could be diminished.
🌿 Sanskrit is not just a language—it’s a living legacy. A source of collective wisdom. The root of countless Indian and global languages.
