Pradyot Debbarma, the leader of the Tipra Motha party, has issued a warning about the alleged efforts of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to recruit frustrated youth from the Northeast region of India to carry out terrorist attacks against the country. This comes in the aftermath of the recent car explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi, which has raised concerns about a growing domestic terror threat.
Debbarma took to social media to express his concerns, citing reports from credible sources that Pakistani military officials were present in Chittagong and Dhaka. He accused the ISI of actively recruiting young people from the region to incite violence against India. In light of this, he called for political parties to put aside their differences and prioritize national security.
The Tipra leader emphasized that addressing this threat requires more than just security measures. He stressed the importance of providing opportunities for youth, upholding constitutional rights, and promoting development in the region. Debbarma also highlighted the need to protect and empower minorities in neighboring Bangladesh to counter extremist ideologies.
Meanwhile, authorities are continuing to investigate the car explosion near the Red Fort, which has resulted in the loss of ten lives. The blast, which occurred during rush hour, caused chaos in the busy Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG) have secured the blast site for forensic examination, with multiple agencies working together to determine the cause and motive behind the incident.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been briefed on the situation and has instructed Union Home Minister Amit Shah to oversee the response efforts. Hospitals in Delhi remain on high alert, and police are urging the public to avoid sharing unverified information as the investigation unfolds. The incident has reignited concerns about the threat of terrorism within India and the need for heightened security measures to protect the country’s citizens.
