On Tuesday, the Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Manik Saha, inaugurated 45 decentralized iron removal plants under the Amrit 2.0 scheme in the AMC area in front of the Rabindra Centenary Building in Agartala. The event was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Datta, Chairman of the Central Zone Ratnadatt, Secretary of the Urban Development Department Abhishek Sharma, and CEO of Jal Board Mission Mihir Kanti Gope, among others.
These iron removal plants are part of the Amrit 2.0 scheme aimed at providing clean and safe drinking water to the residents of Agartala. The inauguration ceremony was a significant step towards improving the water quality in the region and ensuring better health outcomes for the people.
The Chief Minister, in his address, emphasized the importance of clean drinking water for the overall well-being of the residents and commended the efforts of the AMC and other stakeholders in implementing the iron removal plants. He also urged the officials to ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of these plants to provide uninterrupted access to clean water for the people.
The Mayor and other officials present at the event expressed their gratitude for the government’s support and pledged to work towards ensuring the success of the Amrit 2.0 scheme in the region. The installation of these iron removal plants marks a significant milestone in the efforts to improve water quality and access to safe drinking water in Agartala.
