Persistent waterlogging in front of Bir Chandra State Library has become a daily ordeal for hundreds of visitors. For several days, stagnant water has accumulated at the entrance area, creating a significant inconvenience for the nearly two to three hundred people who visit the library each day to read books, newspapers, and journals.
Regular visitors say the problem has been ignored for too long. Commuting across the water-clogged stretch has become difficult, especially for elderly readers and students who rely on the library for academic work.
Earlier today, the readers formally appealed to the concerned authorities, urging immediate intervention to resolve the prolonged waterlogging issue. They expressed hope that the administration will take swift action to restore safe and easy access to one of the city’s important public institutions.
Local residents echoed the sentiment, noting that such civic issues hamper the cultural and educational environment the library has nurtured for decades.
