A brief ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Mukta Pukur bank, where Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder laid the foundation stone for the new office building of Ward No. 17 under the Central Zone. In addition to this, he also inaugurated a newly constructed open gym at the same location.
According to officials, the Ward No. 17 office building will be constructed at a cost of Rs.50 lakh, while the open gym has been completed with an expenditure of Rs. 15 lakh. The initiatives aim to strengthen civic infrastructure and promote public fitness within the community.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Monica Das Dutta, Corporators Shikha Banerjee, Snigdha Das Deb, Nibas Das, and Ramnagar Mandal President Amitava Bhattacharya, among others.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the importance of accessible public services and recreational facilities for residents. The Mayor emphasised that the new office and open gym reflect the government’s commitment to improving urban amenities and fostering a healthier lifestyle for citizens.
