The cultural organisation ‘Classic’ is set to host a two-day Classical Music and Dance Festival at Agartala’s Muktadhara Auditorium on December 6 and 7, 2025. The festival will feature performances by legendary artistes from outside the state as well as renowned performers from Tripura, promising an enriching celebration of India’s classical heritage.
In preparation for the event, a press conference was held on Thursday at the Agartala Press Club with the presence of two visiting artistes. National-level performers Bhoomikanya Upadhyay and Bobby Chakraborty, along with General Secretary Tapas Bhattacharjee, addressed the media. The organisers shared that the ‘Classic’ organisation was established 26 years ago and has consistently promoted classical art forms through annual cultural festivals.
The inaugural ceremony on December 6 will be graced by Swami Amrit Nandan Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission, Doleswar, who will formally open the event.
The programme will also be attended by several distinguished guests:
- Pranajit Singha Roy, Minister of Finance, Tripura (Chief Guest)
- Kalyani Roy, Chief Whip of the Tripura Legislative Assembly (Special Guest)
- Rajib Bhattacharjee, Member of Rajya Sabha (Honoured Guest)
- Deepak Majumder, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (Guest of Honour)
Organisers stated that the festival aims to create a vibrant platform for classical musicians and dancers, fostering cultural exchange and encouraging young talents in the state.
