Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday participated in the state-level Tarlak Kut 2026, the traditional harvest festival of the Darlong community, held at Darchawi in Kumarghat of Unakoti district.Sharing his message on social media, the Chief Minister said he was delighted to join the celebrations and noted that Tarlak Kut reflects the spirit of unity while highlighting the rich cultural heritage, customs and traditions of the Darlong community.Dr Saha stressed that such traditional festivals play an important role in strengthening social harmony and fostering mutual respect among different communities. He said the preservation of indigenous cultural events is essential for maintaining the state’s cultural diversity and for passing on age-old traditions to future generations.The Chief Minister extended his warm greetings to the Darlong community on the occasion and appreciated their efforts to uphold and celebrate their cultural identity through collective participation in traditional festivals.
