AGARTALA: Fulfilling a long-standing demand of the local community and the student fraternity, the Anandanagar Class 12 School is set to receive a massive infrastructural facelift. On Tuesday, the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and local MLA, Shri Ramprasad Paul, formally laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art school building.
A ₹8.5 Crore Investment in Future Generations
The new multi-storeyed concrete building is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹8.5 crore. To accommodate the growing number of students and modern educational needs, the building will feature 27 spacious rooms, including:
- Digital Classrooms: Equipped for modern pedagogical tools.
- Specialized Laboratories: For science and technical subjects.
- Administrative Wing: Dedicated rooms for the teaching staff and administrative office.
- Modern Amenities: Enhanced sanitation and common room facilities for students.
During the foundation-laying ceremony, Shri Ramprasad Paul emphasized that the transformation of Anandanagar Class 12 School has been a priority project.
“The students of this region have excelled despite the lack of a proper concrete structure. This ₹8.5 crore investment is a gift to the children of Anandanagar, ensuring they no longer have to study in cramped or aging facilities. Our government believes that a better environment leads to better results,” the Deputy Speaker remarked.
Inauguration of the DNA Club
In addition to the foundation stone ceremony, the Deputy Speaker also inaugurated the DNA Club (Department of Biotechnology Natural Resource Awareness Club) within the school premises.
- Purpose: The DNA Club is an initiative to foster interest in biotechnology, natural sciences, and environmental conservation among school children.
- Activities: The club will organize seminars, nature walks, and science exhibitions to give students hands-on experience beyond their textbooks.
Locals Celebrate the Milestone
For years, parents and students of Anandanagar had been appealing for a permanent pukka (concrete) building to replace the older, decaying sections of the school. The announcement of 27 new rooms has brought a wave of joy to the locality.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Education Department, members of the School Management Committee (SMC), local panchayat leaders, and hundreds of enthusiastic students. The school authorities expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Speaker for his persistent efforts in securing the funds and ensuring the project’s commencement.
With the construction expected to proceed in full swing, the Anandanagar Class 12 School is poised to become a premier educational hub in the sub-division, bridging the gap between rural and urban educational infrastructure.
