As the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) enters its fourth year of governance, the city is witnessing a massive outreach initiative aimed at bringing administrative services directly to the doorsteps of the citizens. Moving away from traditional bureaucratic hurdles, the corporation has launched a series of social and civic programs across all wards to mark this significant milestone.
Ward 46 Leads with Integrated Service Camp
In a standout initiative today, Corporator Prosenjit Lode of Ward No. 46 organized a comprehensive “Civic Service at Your Doorstep” camp. The event, held on Thursday, was designed to bridge the gap between the administration and the public, ensuring that residents can access essential services without visiting the central municipal office.
The camp focused on three primary systematic pillars:
- Financial Ease: Special counters were set up for the hassle-free payment of Property Tax and Water Tax. This “On-the-Spot” collection drive saw a high turnout, as it allowed residents—especially senior citizens—to clear their dues conveniently.
- Green Energy Transition: In alignment with national goals, a dedicated desk was established for the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Officials provided technical guidance on solar rooftop installations and assisted residents with the registration process to avail of free electricity benefits.
- Health and Wellness: Beyond administrative tasks, a Free Health Check-up Camp was conducted. Medical professionals were on-site to provide consultations, basic diagnostics, and medicine distribution to the local residents.
A Month of Social Commitment
The anniversary celebrations are not limited to administrative paperwork. According to the AMC leadership, the month-long program includes several humanitarian initiatives:
- Blood Donation Drives: Aimed at replenishing local blood banks to ensure a steady supply for medical emergencies.
- Winter Raiment Distribution: Recognizing the seasonal needs, the corporation is distributing blankets and winter clothing to the economically disadvantaged sections in various wards.
- Cleanliness Drives: Intensified “Swachhata” programs to maintain the aesthetic and hygienic standards of the capital city.
“Service is Our Priority” – Prosenjit Lode
Speaking to Tripura 24, Corporator Prosenjit Lode stated, “Our goal for this 4th anniversary is to transform the concept of governance. We want the Corporation to reach the people, not the other way around. Whether it’s paying taxes or adopting solar energy, the process should be seamless and accessible at the neighborhood level.”
The local residents have lauded the initiative, noting that the integration of health services with tax collection makes it a truly holistic community event.
