The Departments of Economics and Political Science at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College have collaboratively organized a significant two-day National Workshop focusing on Gender Equality. The initiative aims to foster academic discourse and practical understanding of gender parity in the contemporary socio-economic landscape.
The workshop is being held with the crucial financial assistance of PM-USHA (Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan), highlighting the institutional commitment to high-level academic research and social awareness.

The inaugural session was graced by Professor Padmashri Arunoday Saha, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Saha emphasized the historical context of gender struggles and the necessity of academic institutions in driving social change.
The keynote address, providing deep insights into the core theme of the workshop, was delivered by Professor Santosh Kumar Pal from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. Prof. Pal elaborated on the intersectional nature of gender equality and its impact on national development.
