AGARTALA: In a major milestone for financial inclusion and grassroots women empowerment, the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) hosted a mega review, felicitation, and interactive session in the capital today. The high-profile event was organized to honor top-performing Bank Sakhis, bank branches, blocks, and districts that turned the ambitious “Samriddhi” (Prosperity) Credit Campaigns into a historic triumph, while providing a platform for direct interactions with the state’s rising Lakhpati Didis.
Through structured institutional financial backing, TRLM has been playing a transformative role in upgrading rural livelihoods across farm and non-farm sectors—including climate-smart agriculture, animal husbandry, handloom, handicrafts, food processing, and micro-enterprises.
Breaking Records: The ‘Samriddhi’ Campaign Trajectory
To accelerate credit flow to rural entrepreneurs, TRLM executed two heavily successful, hyper-focused credit mobilization phases over the last year, completely shattering all pre-set targets.
1. Samriddhi 1.0 (August 1 – September 7, 2025)
Launched with an initial blueprint to expand formal credit avenues, this phase achieved unprecedented growth.
- SHG Credit Disbursal: Achieved ₹188.40 crore against a target of ₹100 crore.
- Individual Enterprise Financing: Disbursed ₹10.02 crore against a target of ₹10 crore.
2. Samriddhi 2.0 (November 18, 2025 – January 15, 2026)
Encouraged by the inaugural phase, TRLM scaled up the financial targets for the winter cycle, resulting in an even bigger wave of institutional lending.
- SHG Credit Disbursal: Achieved a staggering ₹269.11 crore against a target of ₹150 crore.
- Individual Bank Loans: Disbursed ₹20.58 crore against a target of ₹15 crore.
- A Synchronized Grassroots Mechanism
The colossal success of Samriddhi 1.0 and 2.0 has been credited to a seamlessly coordinated ecosystem involving commercial banks, District Mission Management Units (DMMUs), and Block Mission Management Units (BMMUs).
While the banking partners ensured swift, hassle-free processing and time-bound sanctions of loan applications with interest subvention benefits, the ground-level TRLM teams meticulously mobilized Self-Help Group (SHG) members, handled rigorous documentation, conducted financial literacy camps, and eliminated bureaucratic red tape at the absolute grassroots level.
Transforming Homemakers into Entrepreneurs
Beyond the statistics, the Samriddhi campaigns have triggered a massive psychological shift among rural women in Tripura, boosting self-confidence, self-reliance, and independent decision-making capabilities.
”With timely credit support and active banking cooperation, thousands of women have expanded their small poultry farms, weaving units, and retail shops into sustainable businesses. They are no longer just supporting their households; they are actively driving the socio-economic indicators of Tripura’s rural economy,” noted a senior TRLM official at the event.
Celebrating Top Performers and Lakhpati Didis
Today’s ceremony culminated in a vibrant felicitation drive where awards were handed over to the leading Bank Sakhis, rural bank managers, and block coordinates who displayed exemplary dedication during the campaigns.
A special interactive segment was also held with the Lakhpati Didis—SHG women who have successfully crossed an annual sustainable income of ₹1 lakh or more. They shared their inspiring journeys of overcoming financial hardships, demonstrating how targeted financial inclusion, combined with grassroots determination, can successfully break the cycle of rural poverty.
