AGARTALA: Launching a sharp ideological offensive against the ruling administration’s developmental claims, the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress has fiercely challenged the government’s official metrics on job creation and law enforcement.
Addressing a high-profile political briefing, Pradesh Youth Congress State President Neelkamal Saha stated that while the Chief Minister and top cabinet executives consistently boast about “good governance” (Sushasan) and expanding employment avenues, the actual ground reality painted a completely contrasting picture of economic distress.
In response to the growing crisis, Neelkamal Saha announced a major state-wide protest movement under the central slogan: “Nesha Noy, Chakri Chai” (We Want Jobs, Not Drugs) to mobilize unemployed youths against state policies.
Challenging the Governance Paradigm: Ground Realities vs. Official Claims
The Youth Congress leadership stated that institutional backlogs in filling vacant government positions have pushed rural and urban youths into an absolute state of despair, making them vulnerable to cross-border illegal networks.
Key Structural Grievances Raised by Neelkamal Saha:
- The Unemployment Crisis: Challenging the state’s claims of massive job creation by pointing out the thousands of qualified candidates waiting for regular recruitment notifications across education, health, and administrative directorates.
- The Proliferation of Outsourcing: Criticizing the government’s increasing reliance on private contract outsourcing agencies, which offer low-paying, temporary jobs that strip the youth of long-term financial security and retirement benefits.
- The Expansion of the Narcotic Network: Expressing deep concern over the rising drug menace across various subdivisions, arguing that the lack of legitimate livelihood options is pushing frustrated youths toward substance abuse.
“The Youth of Tripura Demand Dignified Employment, Not False Promises”: Neelkamal Saha
Launching a direct attack on the government’s economic policies, Youth Congress President Neelkamal Saha stated that his organization will hit the streets across all eight districts to expose these administrative failures.
”From the Chief Minister to every high-ranking minister, the ruling party is busy marketing a completely manufactured image of good governance and prosperity. But if you step out of the capital city and talk to the families in our subdivisions, you will see the real, heartbreaking picture. Qualified, educated youths are sitting idle at home, their certificates rendered useless because this administration has virtually frozen regular recruitment.
Instead of stable jobs, what is spreading rapidly across our state is a dangerous, unchecked drug network that is destroying entire generations. The youth of Tripura do not want hollow political slogans or temporary contract favors. We demand regular, dignified employment. Under our campaign ‘Nesha Noy, Chakri Chai’, the Youth Congress will launch a relentless, democratic mass movement across every block. We will not stop until this government is forced to answer for every vacant post they have held back,” Youth Congress State President Neelkamal Saha declared to party workers.
Pradesh Congress Slams the Current Socio-Political Situation
Echoing these concerns, Pradesh Congress Chief Spokesperson Partha Acharya spoke at length about the ongoing socio-political situation and recent events unfolding in the state.
Partha Acharya alleged that democratic institutions are being systematically undermined, and the voice of the opposition is being actively suppressed through administrative high-handedness. He stated that the Congress party is continuously monitoring the daily law-and-order updates and will soon submit a detailed, comprehensive memorandum to the Governor’s Secretariat, demanding immediate institutional intervention to restore civic liberties and fast-track employment boards.
