The city of Agartala is gearing up for the upcoming Ganesh Puja festival on August 27th, with heightened security measures in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration.
Sadar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Debaprasad Roy, along with West Agartala Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee, recently met with Puja organizers in the city to discuss preparations and security arrangements for the event. According to the SDPO, around 30 applications for Ganesh Puja have been received so far in Agartala.
“We have requested additional forces to be deployed in Agartala to maintain law and order during the Ganesh Puja festivities. Mobile surveillance has been arranged and we are confident that the situation will be well under control,” said the SDPO.
Preparations for the Ganesh Puja have already begun in Agartala, with drainage work in progress and various programs planned by local clubs. The SDPO emphasized the importance of ensuring smooth traffic flow and the deployment of volunteers by Puja organizers to assist with crowd management.
“Any loud sounds or unauthorized DJ systems will be confiscated, and strict action will be taken. We have also discussed plans for the conclusion of the festival on Dashami and are working towards a peaceful and orderly conclusion to the Ganesh Puja celebrations,” added the SDPO.
With the authorities taking proactive measures to ensure safety and security, residents and visitors alike can look forward to a festive and enjoyable Ganesh Puja celebration in Agartala this year.
