Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) marked a significant step in strengthening urban sanitation services as Mayor Deepak Majumdar officially flagged off a fleet of newly introduced waste-carrying auto vehicles. The flag-hoisting ceremony symbolised the formal launch of the upgraded waste collection system aimed at improving cleanliness and efficiency across the city.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Majumdar highlighted that the new autos will streamline daily waste management, enhance door-to-door collection, and support the corporation’s continuing efforts to maintain a cleaner, healthier urban environment. He emphasised that modernising sanitation infrastructure remains a top priority for the municipal administration.
Municipal officials and staff members were present during the ceremony, noting that the deployment of these vehicles will help address growing waste-handling needs across expanding city areas.
