Based on confidential information, Agartala East Police have arrested three drug dealers, including an alleged “kingpin” from Assam, along with a significant quantity of Yaba tablets, from Hotel Woodland Park at Math Chowmuhani in Agartala. The other two individuals arrested are reportedly residents of Tripura, as confirmed by West Tripura Police Superintendent Dr. Kiran Kumar K.
The police operation resulted in the seizure of a substantial consignment of Yaba tablets. According to police sources, the raid was conducted at Hotel Woodland Park following a tip-off. The hotel is believed to have been used as a safe haven for drug trafficking activities.
The arrested “kingpin” from Assam is suspected to be connected to a major network supplying Yaba tablets in the region. Investigations are also underway to determine if the two arrested individuals from Tripura have any links to this network. Police Superintendent Dr. Kiran Kumar K stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend any other individuals involved in this operation.
This incident underscores the police’s stringent stance against drug trafficking in Agartala and the surrounding areas. The police are pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against such crimes and are conducting continuous operations to dismantle drug trafficking networks.
