The Agriculture Recreation Club (Agriculture Binodan Sangstha) organized a vibrant day-long sports competition today at the Matripally Agriculture Ground in Badharghat. The event was part of the club’s annual initiative to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and mental well-being among the employees of the Agriculture Department.
The sports meet saw large-scale participation from department officials and staff, who took a break from their administrative duties to engage in various athletic events.
Dignitaries Gracing the Event
The inaugural ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials of the department, who encouraged the participants:
- Shri Phani Bhushan Jamatia, Director of Agriculture, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
- Shri Apurba Roy, Secretary of the Agriculture Recreation Club.
- Shri Swapan Kumar Das, Chief Engineer.
- Other senior officers and representatives of the association.

The Matripally Agriculture Ground was filled with energy as employees competed in a range of events, including sprints, shot put, and fun-filled recreational games. The atmosphere was one of celebration and mutual encouragement.
Speaking at the event, Director Phani Bhushan Jamatia highlighted the importance of sports in a professional environment.
”Recreation and sports are essential to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Such events not only improve physical health but also strengthen the bond between colleagues, which eventually reflects in better administrative efficiency,” he said.

Secretary Apurba Roy noted that the overwhelming response from the workers was a testament to the club’s success in fostering a positive culture. The winners of various competitions were later awarded trophies and certificates by the dignitaries.
The event concluded with a cultural segment, leaving the employees rejuvenated and motivated for the upcoming working week.
