On Friday, members of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) visited the office of the West Tripura District Magistrate to submit an 11-point charter of demands. The delegation highlighted pressing issues concerning women’s safety, welfare schemes, rising prices, and overall social justice.
AIDWA representatives stated that many of their demands reflect challenges faced by women across the district, including better implementation of government programs, stronger action against domestic violence, improved healthcare services, and increased accountability in welfare delivery.
The delegation urged the administration to take immediate steps to address their concerns, stressing that the demands aim to ensure dignity, protection, and equal opportunities for women. Officials from the district administration assured that the submitted memorandum would be reviewed and appropriate action would follow.
