News Report:
Airbus has issued a major global recall for its A320 aircraft series following the detection of a critical technical issue that may affect flight operations and maintenance cycles. The recall is expected to have a direct impact on several airlines operating large A320 fleets, including India’s largest carrier, IndiGo and Air India.
Industry sources indicate that IndiGo and Air India which operates one of the world’s biggest A320 fleets, may face temporary disruptions as aircraft undergo mandatory inspections and component replacements. While the exact number of IndiGo and Air India planes affected has not yet been disclosed, airline officials have acknowledged that short-term schedule adjustments may be required.
Airbus has assured that the recall is precautionary and part of its “highest safety standards” protocol. The European aircraft manufacturer stated that airlines have been instructed to initiate immediate compliance to avoid any risk to operational safety.
IndiGo and Air India is expected to release a detailed advisory for passengers once the extent of the operational impact is fully assessed. Aviation analysts suggest that while the recall may cause temporary delays or rescheduling, passenger safety remains the top priority.
Further updates are awaited from both Airbus and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
