As part of its ongoing efforts to promote a drug-free India under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), Assam Rifles organized an impactful awareness lecture at Ram Krishna Vidyalaya in Kailashehar, Unakoti District, on March 28, 2025. The event aimed to educate students about the dangers of drug abuse and inspire them to lead a healthy, responsible, and crime-free life.
The awareness program featured a keynote session by Dr. Amitabh Dey, a prominent medical professional from the District Hospital. Dr. Dey shed light on the severe physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse, stressing the importance of a drug-free lifestyle. His insights were well-received by the students, sparking conversations on the importance of personal well-being and community responsibility.
In addition to promoting anti-drug awareness, the session also encouraged students to consider a career in the Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Speakers emphasized the values of discipline, patriotism, and nation-building, highlighting how service in the armed forces can provide a purpose-driven alternative for today’s youth.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from nine professors and 164 students, showcasing strong community engagement and a collective desire for positive change. Assam Rifles’ initiative aligns seamlessly with the core goals of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, reinforcing its commitment to combating drug abuse and empowering the youth of Northeast India.
Through such awareness drives, Assam Rifles continues to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the social fabric of the region and steering the younger generation toward a brighter, addiction-free future.
