News Report:
The All Tripura Pensioners’ Association (ATPA) convened its third triennial state conference on Sunday at Sakhicharan Vidyaniketan, highlighting a 12-point charter of demands aimed at improving the welfare of retired employees.
Key demands include the immediate provision of 22% Dearness Relief (DA), restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and enhancement of the monthly medical allowance to a minimum of ₹1,000. Association leaders stated that pensioners across the state are facing economic hardship due to rising living costs and inadequate medical support.
Speakers at the conference urged the government to address long-pending issues and ensure dignified living conditions for senior citizens who have served in various sectors. The event saw strong participation from members across districts, reflecting widespread concern over pension reforms and welfare provisions.
The ATPA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to continue peaceful democratic movements until their demands are met.
