AGARTALA: In a powerful display of organizational strength, the BJP Sadar Urban District Committee organized a massive rally in Agartala today, aiming to sweep the upcoming TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) elections. The rally, which saw thousands of party workers and supporters take to the streets, was led by Asim Bhattacharjee, the President of the BJP Sadar Urban District.
The march commenced from the state party headquarters at Krishnanagar and traversed the main thoroughfares of the capital, turning Agartala’s streets into a sea of saffron flags and festoons.
A Strategy for Victory
With the TTAADC General Elections scheduled for April 12, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to secure a absolute majority. The rally today was designed to boost the morale of the urban cadre and send a strong message to the hills.
Highlights of the Rally:
- Route: Starting from the BJP State Office, the procession moved through Paradise Choumuhani, Post Office Chowmuhani, and HGB Road before returning to the base.
- Objective: To mobilize support for the 28 BJP candidates contesting across the tribal council areas.
- Presence: Senior district leaders and members of the BJP’s various frontals (Morchas) participated in full force.
“Development vs. Deprivation”: Asim Bhattacharjee
Addressing the gathering at the end of the rally, Asim Bhattacharjee asserted that the people of the state, both in the plains and the hills, have realized that only the “Double-Engine” government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha can deliver genuine progress.
”The TTAADC has long been a victim of corruption and empty promises by regional parties. Today’s rally proves that the people of Agartala and the surrounding tribal areas are ready to vote for the lotus. Our goal is to ensure that every BJP candidate wins by a record margin to bring the ADC into the mainstream of India’s development story,” Bhattacharjee stated.
Crucial Polls on April 12
The upcoming election is being viewed as a high-stakes battle between the ruling BJP-IPFT alliance and the Tipra Motha, with the Congress-CPI(M) combine also attempting to regain lost ground.
Political Climate:
- The BJP is campaigning on the platform of the “Sankalp Patra” (Manifesto), which promises direct funding and improved infrastructure for tribal regions.
- The Sadar Urban District Committee has been tasked with ensuring that urban-based tribal voters and the “silent majority” are mobilized effectively before the 48-hour campaign silence period begins tomorrow.
The scale of today’s rally has significantly raised the political temperature in the capital, signaling that the BJP intends to dominate the final hours of the campaign before the state goes to the polls this Sunday.
