The Border Security Force (BSF) has taken a significant step towards gender equality and operational efficiency with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Mahila Barrack at Border Out Post (BOP) Ekinpur in South Tripura district. The inauguration ceremony was led by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Inspector General (IG) of Frontier Headquarters (Ftr HQ) Tripura, highlighting the BSF’s dedication to the welfare and empowerment of its women personnel.
This new barrack, specially designed for female personnel, is equipped with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable and conducive living environment. The aim is to enhance the capabilities of mahila praharis and further strengthen their role in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
During the event, Ashwani Kumar Sharma emphasized the BSF’s commitment to integrating and empowering women within its ranks. He stated, “The BSF has always been at the forefront of recognizing the importance of women in security forces and their invaluable contribution to our national security.”
