Thousands of devotees from across the country have already started flocking to the holy sites of Yamunotri and Gangotri as the Char Dham Yatra 2025 officially began on Wednesday. The opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples in the Garhwal Himalayas marked the beginning of this annual pilgrimage, which is considered highly auspicious by Hindu devotees.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself offered prayers at the sacred Gangotri Dham to kick off the yatra. The doors of both temples were opened on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, a day believed to bring good fortune and success to those embarking on spiritual journeys.
