Chief Minister Manik Saha of Tripura praised the significant contributions of Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) in the state in ensuring access to quality education for students from Janajati communities. Speaking at an event on July 26 at Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala, Saha highlighted the crucial role played by NGOs in managing 192 hostels where around 16,500 students are currently pursuing their studies.
During the event, meritorious students from these hostels who excelled in the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations were felicitated. Saha emphasized the importance of education and commended the students for their achievements, stating that they are the ambassadors of Tripura and the world.
The Chief Minister also expressed his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising his efforts towards overall development and protection. Saha noted that under PM Modi’s leadership, initiatives like Operation Sindoor have ensured the safety and security of the nation. He also highlighted the recognition received by Janajati people, with products like Risha obtaining the GI Tag and several individuals receiving the Padma Shri award.
Furthermore, Saha discussed the progress made in Tripura in various sectors, including providing drinking water to 85% of Janajati households and promoting sports development among Janajati youths. He mentioned the construction of turf football grounds in Janajati areas and the collaboration with telecommunication companies to install towers for better connectivity.
As the government continues to focus on the welfare and empowerment of Janajati communities, Saha reiterated the importance of education and the need for continuous learning. He emphasized that through collective efforts and support from both NGOs and the government, a brighter and more educated future can be created for all students in Tripura.
