News Report:
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha attended the state-level observance of World AIDS Day at the MBB Playground in Agartala on Sunday. The event, held at 3:30 PM, highlighted Tripura’s ongoing efforts to strengthen awareness, prevention, and treatment initiatives related to HIV/AIDS.
During the programme, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated new Cancer Care Centres in the North Tripura, Gomati, and Dhalai districts. These centres are expected to significantly enhance access to specialised cancer treatment for citizens across the state, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for advanced care.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha emphasised the government’s commitment to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring better healthcare delivery at all levels. He also underscored the importance of community awareness in combating HIV/AIDS and encouraged collective responsibility to eliminate stigma associated with the disease.
The event saw participation from health officials, medical professionals, NGOs, students, and community groups.
