Agartala, Tripura: Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha attended the celebration of the 3rd Foundation Day of Agartala Government Dental College (AGDC) and IGM Hospital at Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala. The occasion marked several significant milestones in the strengthening of the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
During the programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated the seismic retrofitting and restoration work of the old IGM Hospital building, aimed at enhancing structural safety and longevity. He also performed the bhumi pujan for the construction of a new building of Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital, signalling further expansion of medical education and healthcare facilities in the state.
Also present at the event were Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, NHM Managing Director Sajub Ahamed, directors of the Health Department, senior officials, doctors, medical students, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare services, medical education, and patient safety. He emphasized that continuous upgradation of infrastructure and facilities is essential to provide quality healthcare to the people of Tripura.
The event reflected the government’s focused approach towards modernising health institutions while preserving and strengthening existing heritage medical structures.
