AGARTALA (Hapania): Amidst the bustling atmosphere of the ongoing fair at the Hapania International Fairground, the Longtharai Paribar—the social welfare and corporate wing of Tripura’s renowned FMCG brand—organized a mega Sit-and-Draw (Bose Ako) Competition today. The event aimed to provide a creative platform for the children of the state to showcase their artistic talents.
A Canvas for the Youth
The Hapania Mela ground, usually known for its commercial activities, was transformed into a sea of colors as hundreds of young participants from various parts of West Tripura gathered with their drawing boards and colors. The competition was divided into multiple age groups, ensuring that toddlers as well as senior students had an equal opportunity to compete.
Themes for the competition were thoughtfully chosen to reflect the heritage of Tripura, environmental conservation, and the visionary “Viksit Tripura.”
Longtharai’s Social Commitment
Speaking on behalf of Longtharai Paribar, senior officials noted that the brand has always considered itself a part of the everyday lives of the people of Tripura.
“Longtharai is not just a brand; we are a family. Beyond our business commitments, we believe in nurturing the creative potential of our future generations. Watching these children express their dreams through colors today at this historic Mela ground is truly heartening,” said a representative of the Longtharai Group.
Key Highlights of the Event:
- Massive Turnout: Over 400 children participated across three categories.
- Fairground Synergy: The event added a unique cultural dimension to the Hapania Fair, drawing large crowds of parents and visitors who stopped to encourage the young artists.
- Judgement & Awards: Renowned local artists were invited to evaluate the artwork. The winners will be honored with special gift hampers from the Longtharai family, along with certificates of excellence.
Parental Appreciation
Many parents present at the venue lauded the initiative, noting that such competitions held in public spaces like the Hapania Mela ground help build confidence in children. “It is wonderful to see a local brand like Longtharai taking an interest in children’s extracurricular growth. It makes the fair experience more meaningful for families,” said a parent from the Amtali area.
Building a “Swastha & Sundar” Tripura
This art competition is part of a series of social initiatives planned by the Longtharai family during the current fair season. From felicitating grassroots workers to organizing youth-centric events, the group continues to strengthen its bond with the citizens of the state.
The prize distribution ceremony is scheduled to be held later this evening at the main stage of the fairground, in the presence of distinguished guests and members of the Longtharai management.
