News Report:
The Communist Party of India (CPI) will organise a protest demonstration in front of its state office, Junu Das Bhavan, Agartala, condemning alleged acts of violence in Bangladesh.
According to party sources, the protest is being held against what CPI described as widespread destruction carried out by Jamaat-linked fundamentalist elements, attacks on newspapers, cultural organisations, the Indian Embassy, as well as assaults on journalists and common citizens. The demonstration will also protest the killing of a worker identified as Dipu Chandra Das.
CPI leaders stated that the programme aims to raise public awareness and demand accountability for the incidents. The party has appealed to the media to cover the protest programme to highlight the concerns being raised.
Further details regarding the timing and participation in the protest are expected to be shared by party officials.
