Thirteen cases of dengue fever have been reported in the Unakoti district of Tripura, prompting the health department to take swift action to prevent the spread of the disease. The cases were confirmed after 70 blood samples were tested between November 5 and 10, with 13 returning positive for dengue. The affected villages include Deorachhera, Satlang, Kalaigiri, Srirampur, Murtichhera, and Bhadrapalli.
In response to the outbreak, the district health department has deployed a special medical team to assess the situation on the ground. Health camps have been set up in the affected areas to provide medical support and educate residents on dengue prevention. ASHA workers and Multi-Purpose Workers (MPWs) are conducting door-to-door campaigns to raise awareness about mosquito control, hygiene practices, and early detection of symptoms.
All infected patients are currently receiving medical care, with their conditions reported as stable and improving. The health department is conducting continuous monitoring and follow-up visits to prevent further spread of the disease.
Officials are urging citizens to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, eliminate stagnant water sources, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience fever or dengue-like symptoms. By taking these preventive measures, the health department hopes to contain the outbreak and protect the community from further cases of dengue fever.
