Devotees in Assam gathered at the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati to offer prayers and seek blessings for the Indian Army amid escalating tensions with Pakistan. The prayers were held on the morning of May 9 as a gesture of gratitude and support for the armed forces, who have been facing continued ceasefire violations and aggression from Pakistan.
Many devotees expressed their pride in the Indian Army’s efforts and called for the eradication of terrorism, which poses a threat to India’s integrity. Shantanu Roy, a devotee, praised the Indian Army for their work and called for their continued efforts until terrorism is completely eliminated. He saluted the armed forces and exclaimed, “Jai Hind!”
Another devotee, Shumita Roy, prayed for strength for the families of those who have lost loved ones in recent attacks and for those who are still fighting against terrorism. She asked for divine intervention to empower those working to combat terrorism and bring peace to the region.
Jai Kumar Das, a fervent devotee, expressed his anger towards Pakistan for its frequent attacks on India. He urged for the Indian Army to be given the power to eliminate Pakistan completely, emphasizing the need for protection against ongoing threats.
In a separate development, reports emerged of multiple drones and heavy cross-border shelling near civilian areas in Jammu on Thursday night. Residents witnessed drones in the sky followed by intense firing throughout the night. Despite the disturbances, locals remained resilient and expressed confidence in the security forces to protect them.
Visuals showed damage to civilian houses in the border town of Jammu & Kashmir as a result of shelling by Pakistan. As a precautionary measure, schools, colleges, and educational institutions in Udhampur were closed in response to the prevailing situation.
The prayers at Kamakhya Temple and the incidents in Jammu highlight the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, with devotees and residents alike calling for security and protection against external threats.
