The Gomati River is flowing, there are palm machines next to the river, yet farmers are not getting water! This incident took place at Nyangtadar Ghat in Bototoli of Sonamura district.
Farmers are the backbone of the country, farmers are the architects of the development of the country, and farmers are the ones who feed us. All governments shed crocodile tears for farmers, but in reality, farmers are always neglected. While discussions about farmers are limited to the stage, in reality, their problems do not get any closer.
Recently, it was seen that in the vast char of Nyangtadar Ghat in Sonamura district, where farmers have been cultivating vegetables for twelve months, due to electricity problems, they are unable to provide water to their land from the palm machine that is there. As a result, their crops, especially sesame, chili, ridge gourd, and various types of vegetable plants are dying in the scorching heat. Some farmers are managing to water their crops by bringing water in buckets, but the crops are not being protected in any way. However, there is no response from the local agriculture department or administration on this issue. Farmers express their grievances to the media.
Some say that they are working in agriculture by borrowing money, while others say that there is no other way except for dying from hunger in the coming days. Farmers demand that the palm machine be fixed, water arrangements be made, and farmers be saved.
