A significant law enforcement operation near the Sipahijala Guest House in Tripura has resulted in the recovery of a firearm and the arrest of four individuals, escalating concerns about security in the area. The arrests, carried out on Thursday afternoon, are linked to a recent incident in the Teliamura Kushshaytila area, where an individual named Abhijit Das allegedly fired two rounds at his wife at her parental home.
Following the Teliamura incident, the Teliamura police apprehended four individuals near the Teliamura Charipara cremation ground. Subsequently, under the leadership of Teliamura Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Panna Lal Sen, the police, accompanied by the accused Abhijit Das, recovered the firearm from a forested area adjacent to the Sipahijala Guest House.
This recovery has raised critical questions about how the accused managed to transport the weapon from Teliamura to the Sipahijala Guest House location. Furthermore, there are local reports alleging that the Sipahijala Guest House and its cottages have become sites for illicit activities, including the open trade of narcotics and the presence of sex workers during daylight hours. This information is adding to the concern of the local populations. The police are continuing their investigation into all aspects of these incidents.
