In a historic move for the sports fraternity of the state, the Tripura Olympic Association (TOA) is set to organize a multi-disciplinary sports meet for the first time on a grand scale. During a press conference held today at the Narsingarh State Sports Complex (NSRCC) in Agartala, TOA officials announced that the event will commence on February 22 and continue until February 24, 2026.
The games will be officially inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, who also serves as the President of the Tripura Olympic Association.
A New Era for State Athletes
The TOA officials highlighted that this event aims to provide a professional platform for local talent to showcase their skills before moving on to national and international arenas.
”This is a milestone for Tripura’s sports history. Under the leadership of our Chief Minister, we are hosting these games for the first time to nurture the competitive spirit among our youth. We want to identify the ‘diamonds in the rough’ from every district,” a senior TOA official stated at the NSRCC.
Key Highlights of the Event
- Duration: February 22 to February 24 (3 Days).
- Venue: Major events will be centered at the NSRCC and Badharghat Stadium.
- Disciplines: The meet will include various sporting categories such as Athletics, Football, Gymnastics, Judo, and Swimming, among others.
- Inauguration: A gala opening ceremony is planned for the 22nd, featuring a march past by athletes from all eight districts.
Focus on “Viksit Tripura, Sports Tripura”
The TOA leadership emphasized that the association is working in sync with the state government’s vision to upgrade sports infrastructure. The 3-day event is expected to draw hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators, creating a festive atmosphere for sports lovers in the capital.

With just a few days left, the NSRCC is undergoing a makeover to host the athletes. The association has ensured that all technical committees are in place to maintain the highest standards of officiating and sportsmanship.
