AGARTALA: The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Tripura State Branch, organized an important press conference at the IMA House in Agartala today. The meet was called to discuss several pressing issues currently affecting the medical fraternity and the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
Senior representatives of the association addressed the media, highlighting their roadmap for the upcoming fiscal year and their expectations from the state government.
Key Issues Discussed
During the conference, the IMA leadership touched upon several critical points, including:
- Doctor-Patient Relations: The association emphasized the need for a safe working environment for medical professionals and urged the public to maintain trust in the healthcare system.
- Infrastructure Upgrades: A demand for modernizing medical facilities in the district and sub-divisional hospitals to reduce the burden on Agartala’s referral hospitals.
- Public Health Awareness: The IMA announced a series of upcoming health camps and seminars aimed at combating seasonal diseases and lifestyle disorders.
- Medical Education: Suggestions were made regarding the enhancement of postgraduate seats and research facilities for young doctors within the state.

The spokespersons for IMA Tripura reiterated their commitment to serving the people of the state and expressed their willingness to collaborate with the health department for more efficient delivery of medical services.

Administrative Appeal
The association also mentioned that a formal memorandum based on today’s discussions will be submitted to the Health Minister in the coming days, seeking intervention on pending administrative issues related to the medical community.
