The Axiom-4 mission, which includes India’s Shubhanshu Shukla along with three other astronauts, embarked on a 28-hour journey to the International Space Station (ISS) after a series of delays. The mission was finally launched on Wednesday from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Shukla, a Group Captain, shared his excitement in his first message from space, stating, “This is not the start of my journey but the start of India’s human space programme.” This marks a significant milestone for India as the country continues to make progress in its space exploration efforts.
The Axiom-4 mission aims to conduct various experiments and research projects aboard the ISS, furthering scientific knowledge and advancing space exploration. Shukla and his fellow astronauts are expected to spend several weeks on the ISS before returning to Earth.
