Operation Sindoor : New details have emerged about India’s highly successful strikes on Pakistani air bases. On the night of May 9th, Indian forces targeted the AD command and control (C4I) bunker at the Nur Khan base near Rawalpindi. This bunker, which was a hardened deeply buried target built by General Electric Co of the US, was hit by Brahmos cruise missiles that targeted its 45 cm vent for air conditioning, resulting in the vaporization of all 100 officers and computers inside.
In an attempt to conceal the extent of their losses from spy satellites, Pakistan did not evacuate their casualties. Instead, they brought in dozers and leveled the destroyed bunker with the deceased still inside. Additionally, India destroyed the UAV UG command center at the Muridke air base, which Pakistani forces also attempted to bury with their dozers, causing their UAVs to fall from the skies.
At Bolari, India successfully targeted a massive hangar that housed an AWAC and four F-16 fighter jets. The Pakistanis have not cleared out the hangar of debris, only covering the gaping holes with tarpaulin. Recent reports suggest that American forces have taken over the Noor Khan base and are in the process of evacuating some cargo from the area using transport aircraft.
These developments indicate that there may be something serious afoot in the region, as the aftermath of India’s strikes continues to unfold. The success of these strikes has demonstrated India’s military capabilities and their ability to target high-value assets in Pakistan. It remains to be seen how Pakistan will respond to these devastating blows to their air bases.
