State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday reviewed the progress of proposed railway overbridge projects in the Jirania subdivision and directed officials to speed up their implementation. The review meeting was held at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s conference hall, where key technical and administrative issues affecting the projects were discussed.The Minister highlighted the importance of overbridges in improving road safety and ensuring smooth movement of both vehicles and trains. He said these projects are crucial for strengthening connectivity and easing traffic congestion in the area, especially in the Majlishpur Assembly constituency.Officials from the Transport Department, Public Works Department (R&B and National Highways), Northeast Frontier Railway, and the local administration attended the meeting. Discussions focused on better coordination among departments and removing procedural delays.Reaffirming the government’s commitment to timely infrastructure development, Minister Chowdhury urged all concerned agencies to work together to complete the projects at the earliest, stating that the overbridges will greatly benefit daily commuters and local residents.
