Agartala, Tripura: To commemorate its 69th Foundation Day and the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Kaurabs Club of Subhashpally, Agartala, has announced a five-day programme featuring blood donation and various social initiatives.
Addressing a press briefing at the club premises on Sunday, Club President Monilal Banik and Secretary Rajesh Dey detailed the event schedule and appealed for active public participation.
As part of the celebrations, a six-a-side cricket tournament will be held from January 2 to January 4. The entry fee for participating teams has been fixed at Rs 1,000. The champion team will receive a cash prize of Rs 8,000, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 5,000.
A mega blood donation camp is scheduled for January 10, along with distribution of winter clothing among the underprivileged. The programme will also include a felicitation ceremony for students who have passed the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations. The organisers said that Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, may attend the programme.
Additional activities include a sit-and-draw competition, quiz contests, and several other community-focused events. The club authorities stated that the initiatives are inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and aim to promote social responsibility, youth engagement, and community service.
The organisers urged residents of the area and the city at large to participate in the programmes and make the celebrations a success.
