News Report:
Agartala, Tripura: Four left-wing student organisations staged a protest in front of City Centre, Agartala, condemning the death of Tripura student Angel Chakma in Uttarakhand, where he was allegedly targeted due to ethnic hatred.
The protesters offered prayers for the peace of the departed soul and demanded strict punishment for those responsible. They alleged that Angel Chakma fell victim to communal extremism and racial discrimination, and called the incident a grave violation of human rights and student safety.
Addressing the gathering, leaders of the student organisations urged the authorities to ensure a fair and time-bound investigation, hold the perpetrators accountable, and put in place effective safeguards to protect students from Tripura and the Northeast studying outside the state.
The demonstration was held peacefully, with participants appealing for unity, justice, and the upholding of constitutional values.
