Patna, March 30:
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday openly admitted to making political miscalculations by quitting the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) twice, vowing that such a decision will not be repeated again. The candid confession came during a Cooperative Department event held at Bapu Auditorium in Patna, which was attended by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah.
Addressing the gathering, CM Nitish Kumar said, “I made a mistake twice, but this will not happen again,” signaling a firm and final commitment to remain with the NDA ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections.
He praised the cooperative sector’s contribution to Bihar’s development and credited Union Minister Amit Shah for launching impactful nationwide schemes under his leadership. “Bihar has benefited immensely from various central cooperative initiatives. These efforts are transforming lives not just here but across the country,” Nitish added.
In a sharp political attack, Nitish Kumar targeted former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, accusing them of derailing the state’s progress before 2005. He claimed that under their rule, law and order had deteriorated to the extent that people were afraid to venture out after sunset.
Highlighting key achievements under his governance, CM Nitish cited the Jeevika scheme as a game-changing initiative that empowered thousands of women through self-help groups (SHGs). He also mentioned that Bihar’s model inspired the UPA-led Central Government to implement the Ajeevika scheme nationwide.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the chief guest at the event, inaugurated several multi-crore development projects and officially announced that the NDA would contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He urged voters to give the alliance a strong mandate to ensure continued development and good governance in the state.
The event was also attended by Bihar’s Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, and other key NDA leaders.
