Mayor inspects fire incident in Hapania Bazar.
This morning, at ten thirty sharp, a dangerous fire incident engulfed five shops in Hapania Bazar, completely reducing them to ashes. Additionally, a couple of other shops suffered minor damages. Upon receiving news of the fire, two fire brigade vehicles rushed to the scene. With the help of the local residents, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control. Among the five shops that were completely burnt down, there is a hotel from which the source of the fire is suspected to have originated. Adjacent to the affected area were fast food stalls, fruit shops, and several other shops.
Upon hearing about the fire, Mayor Deepak Majumdar, local councilor Minarani Sarkar, corporators Bapi Das, Abhijit Mallik, and Sabita Kar, along with others, rushed to the scene. The Mayor spoke to the affected shop owners and faced the media, assuring that necessary government assistance would be provided promptly. Steps will also be taken to provide support from the Municipal Corporation. Plans are being made to rebuild the market as a modern and well-equipped facility in the near future. The Mayor expressed his sympathy to the affected shop owners and promised to provide financial assistance as much as possible.
It is estimated that the total loss from this fire incident will be around 5-6 lakh taka.
