Agartala, Tripura: Responding to the Prime Minister’s call to build a TB Mukt Bharat, a significant review and coordination meeting was held at the conference hall of the West Tripura District Magistrate’s Office to strengthen efforts towards making the district tuberculosis-free.
The meeting was attended by the District Magistrate of West Tripura, district magistrates from other districts, panchayat pradhans, elected public representatives, and senior officials from concerned departments. The focus of the discussion was on coordinated planning, early detection, treatment adherence, and community participation to eliminate tuberculosis.
Officials reviewed the current status of TB cases in West Tripura and discussed strategies to intensify awareness campaigns, improve monitoring, and ensure timely medical support for patients. Emphasis was laid on the role of local self-government institutions and grassroots-level representatives in identifying cases and supporting affected families.
In a parallel session held at the West Tripura district office conference hall, the District Magistrate, the in-charge district leadership, and departmental officials reiterated their commitment to achieving TB-free status within the targeted timeline. The officials stressed inter-departmental coordination and active public participation as key factors for success.
The administration urged all stakeholders to work collectively to fulfil the national goal of eliminating tuberculosis and ensuring a healthier future for the people of Tripura.
