Agartala: To streamline the implementation of developmental schemes and evaluate grassroots-level progress, the Hon’ble Minister for SC Welfare, Animal Resource Development (ARD), and Fisheries, Shri Sudhangshu Das, chaired a comprehensive District Level Review Meeting tomorrow, February 24, 2026.
The meeting commence at 12:30 PM at the State Guest House (Sonar Tari) in Agartala. This high-level session will focus on the performance and upcoming targets of the three crucial departments under his portfolio: ARD, SC Welfare, and Fisheries.
Agenda: Evaluating Developmental Milestones
According to departmental sources, the Minister interact with District-level officers to assess the “Last Mile Delivery” of various state and central welfare projects. Key focus areas of the meeting include:
- SC Welfare: Reviewing the distribution of educational stipends, housing schemes, and livelihood development programs aimed at the Scheduled Caste community.
- Animal Resource Development (ARD): Assessing the progress of dairy farming initiatives, poultry distribution, and veterinary service accessibility across the districts.
- Fisheries: Evaluating the ‘Mukhyamantri Matsya Vikas Yojana’ and checking the status of fingerling distribution and water body utilization to boost fish production in the state.
Strengthening Administrative Accountability
Minister Sudhangshu Das has been proactive in conducting field-level inspections. Tomorrow’s meeting at Sonar Tari is expected to be a rigorous session where officials will be required to submit detailed progress reports for the current fiscal year (2025-26).
”The objective is to ensure that no beneficiary is left behind. We want to identify the bottlenecks at the district level and resolve them immediately to ensure 100% saturation of our welfare schemes,” a senior official from the SC Welfare Department stated.

- Shri Sudhangshu Das, Hon’ble Minister.
- Directors of SC Welfare, ARD, and Fisheries Departments.
- District Welfare Officers (DWOs) and District Officers from all eight districts.

The outcome of this meeting is likely to dictate the roadmap for the next quarter, with a specific emphasis on achieving self-sufficiency in fish and milk production in Tripura.
